OLW 19

It's been quite awhile since I spent any amount of time in my craft room and although I've been visiting blogs, I haven't been posting.

Susan's OLW challenge this week was to make a ONE layer, simple card with Black + White and a *spot* of colour,  and after several tries, this is the one I was the most satisfied with ... you should have seen the ones I tossed :o)

I decided to heat emboss the swirling flourish as well as the little red bird sitting on top ...

I retrieved a couple from the garbage to punch INCHIES out of to use for a separate card for another time so at least I didn't waste much!

I love the embossed swirls and the red bird is the perfect little spot of color!

I think this is the first time I've completed a OLW challenge without messing up several times! This look awesome!

Such a clever way to ace the Challenge! And I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has to make a bunch to get to one worthy of posting.

Very striking. I love the shine from the heat embossing.

Oh, very pretty! The bird is a great touch! I bet this would make a nice Christmas card if you stamped the flourish in green. Great card!

Thanks for the sweet comments everyone and to Lil-Rosi for the idea that it might make a great Christmas card if the flourish were stamped in green :o)

Have a great weekend!
